Manual: Installing the base station
Step 1: Install the antenna
Start by installing the antenna, this must be done before starting the device.
- In the box you will find an antenna
- Without tools, tighten the antenna to the side of the base station until it points upwards.
Please note: do not disconnect the antenna while the device is on. If this does happen, the device must be restarted.
Step 2: Open the tailgate
Use a Phillips screwdriver (PH screwdriver) to open the back cover.
Step 3: Choose your connectivity
The base station works with Ethernet and/or via 4G.
Ethernet + 4G (Recommended)
We recommend using a double internet line. This way you guarantee connectivity in the event of an emergency. The SIM card is already installed and ready to use.
- Connect the internet cable (Ethernet cable with RJ45 plug, not included)
- If the device turns on when connecting the cable, you can continue to step 4
Doesn't this work? The device expects an IP address from a DHCP server.
Only 4G
Everything has already been arranged, the SIM card is already installed and works immediately.
Please note: We recommend also connecting an internet cable to the device. The instructions for this are above under 'Ethernet + 4G'.
Step 4: Choose your power supply
The base station can be powered in two ways:
- Use the supplied adapter or if purchased battery powered (UPS)
- Use Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3 AF)
TIP: Not familiar with PoE? Then choose the adapter.
Step 5: Close the back
Use a Phillips screwdriver (PH screwdriver) to close the back cover. The cables can be led outside via the cable ducts.
Step 6: Check operation
- Wait at least 1 minute after the device has started up
- The following lights should be on: Power, Status, Lora, LTE and optional ETH (if you choose Ethernet)
The most important step is of course to press an emergency response button. Is this coming in? Then everything is fine!
Step 7: Place on the card
Go to beheer.bhv-knop.nl and place the Bass Station in the correct location on the map. At this stage the bass station should be online in the dashboard. Is not that right? Then check the operation.
TIP: Multiple base stations? Each base station has a unique sticker that starts with a B.
